Distributive Property of Multiplication

Published on

The distributive property of multiplication is a way to simplify some calculations. It's like having a helper that makes multiplication easier!

Here's how it works:

Let's say you have 2 groups of 3 candies each. You can count the candies one by one, which would take a long time, or you can use the distributive property to find the answer faster.

You would multiply 2 by 3, and then add 2 to itself. So, instead of counting the candies one by one, you just multiply 2 by 3 and get 6. That means you have 6 candies in total!

The distributive property of multiplication helps us simplify calculations by breaking down a big number into smaller parts and then multiplying each part by the same number. This makes it easier to find the answer, and saves time and effort.
