Factors and Multiples

Published on

A factor is a number that can be multiplied by another number to get a third number.

For example, the factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12. This means that 12 can be divided evenly by each of these numbers.

A multiple is a number that can be created by multiplying another number by a whole number.

For example, the multiples of 4 are 4, 8, 12, 16, and so on. This means that each of these numbers can be created by multiplying 4 by a whole number.

So, factors are the numbers that a number can be divided by, and multiples are the numbers that can be created by multiplying another number.
