Ordering Numbers

Published on

Number sorting is when we arrange numbers in a specific order, either from smallest to largest or largest to smallest.

Think of it like putting books on a shelf. Just like books can be arranged from shortest to tallest or tallest to shortest, numbers can be arranged from smallest to largest or largest to largest.

We use number sorting to help us understand and compare numbers, and to solve problems. For example, if you have a bunch of toys and you want to put them away in order from smallest to largest, you can sort them that way. Sorting makes it easier to see which toy is the smallest or largest, and to find the toy you want more quickly.
