Imagine you want to find the average height of a group of children in your class, but some children are taller than others, so their height should count more. The weighted average is a way to find the average height of the group, taking into account that some children are taller than others.

Here's how you can find the weighted average:

Write down the height of each child in your class. Give a weight to each child based on how tall they are. For example, you can give more weight to taller children and less weight to shorter children. Multiply the height of each child by its weight. Add up all the results from step 3. Divide the total from step 4 by the total weight. The result is the weighted average height of the group of children in your class. This way, the taller children have more influence on the average height, and the shorter children have less influence.
